Acting FM: Armenia prioritizes free, fair and transparent elections
During his meeting with the Secretary General of the Council of Europe, Thorbjørn Jagland, the acting Foreign Minister of Armenia, Zohrab Mnatsakanyan, expressed his concern, on the political manipulation of a number of issues in the structure, particularly regarding the promotion of European values and human rights protection.
The acting Foreign Minister presented the tangible achievements and positive shifts achieved towards the implementation of reforms, the foreign ministry informed.
Referring to snap parliamentary elections in Armenia, Minister Mnatsakanyan underlined that holding free, fair and transparent elections is one of the priorities of the Armenian government.
The acting Minister Mnatsakanyan presented the CoE Secretary General the position and approaches of Armenia towards the settlement of the Nagorno Karabakh conflict, reaffirming the commitment of the Armenian side to the peaceful settlement of the conflict within the framework of the OSCE Minsk Group.
The officials exchanged views on the effective implementation of Armenia-Europe Action Plan and the development of a new action plan.
