SCPEC reports unprecedented progress in the field of economic competition in Armenia
"In 2018 our country we have witnessed unprecedented progress in the field of competition," Artak Shaboyan, the Chairman of the State Commission for Protection of Economic Competition, told reports at a press conference Saturday, presenting the annual activity report.
He said that according to the World Economic Forum this year, Armenia has improved its position in the field of competition in 2018 and currently ranks the 19th among 140 countries worldwide, instead of the 28th of last year.
"As a result of the improvement of the competitive environment in Armenia and as a result of the increase in the number of business entities, there has been a reduction in the share of large-scale business entities," Shaboyan said.
The SCPEC Chairman also noted that instead of 30 companies in 2014, there are already 149 in 2018. During four years the number of importers has jumped from 36 to 62.
