Pashinyan-led My Step bloc campaigns in Aragatsotn, Shirak regions
My Step bloc led by Acting Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan on Monday morning left for the Aragatsotn region as part of the snap parliamentary election campaign that officially kicked off today.
He first met with the voters in Talin town, calling on the large crowd to support his political team to further continue the reforms process in the country next year.
In particular, he unveiled plans to free microbusiness from all taxes. “This means that all the institutions working in Talin, including the small stores the annual turnover of which doesn’t exceed 24 million drams will be freed from taxes,” Pashinyan said.
He stressed until now the policy pursued in Armenia was aimed at making the Armenian citizens ‘as poor and vulnerable as possible, always seeking held from officials and oligarchs.’
“We need to create an opportunity for our citizens to work and meet the needs of their families with a decent job. No Armenian citizen should remain in need,” he said.
Pashinyan also said individual taxi drivers will be freed from all kind of taxes, including the 8,000 drams of monthly payment for driving a taxi. Meantime, the fines for drivers that violate the traffic rules will not exceed 29,000 drams.
Later today, Pashinyan’s team headed to the Shirak region to meet with residents in Maralik, Artik and Gyumri.
The acting PM earlier announced a decision to take a vacation to fully take part in the election race.
The election campaign runs through December 7, with December 8 to be declared a ‘day of silence’ in which no campaigning will be allowed ahead of the voting on 9 December.
Eleven political forces, including two blocs and nine parties. are running for the snap elections.
