Polling stations open in Georgia for presidential election runoff
Electoral polling stations opened in Georgia Wednesday morning for the second round of presidential elections, according to Gazeta.ru.
In the first round 25 candidates were nominated for the presidency, and none of them was able pass the 50 per cent margin. During the election runoff there are two candidates - Salome Zourabichvili supported by the ruling Georgian Dream party and the candidate of United National Movement Grigol Vashadze.
In the first round Salome Zourabichvili received 38.64 per cent of total votes, while Grigol vashadze was supported by 37.74 per cent of voters. The election turnout was 45.4 per cent.
The ballots are printed in Georgian, Armenian and Azerbaijani languages.
