Soldier dies in avalanche in Armenian region
An Armenian contract soldier has been killed due to an avalanche in Gegharkunik Province, Acting Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan said today in his election campaign speech in the town of Vardenis.
“I have bad news. The soldier has been found dead,” he said. “I express condolences to his family and friends.”
Pashinyan proposed the attendees to honor the memory of the deceased soldier with a moment of silence.
Earlier on November 28, the emergencies ministry said in a statement that a person had gone missing in an avalanche. The statement provided no other details.
