Armenian police unveil number of eligible voters for December elections
The Armenian police have published the total number of eligible voters for the December 9 snap parliamentary elections.
Under the Electoral Code, the police are expected to publish the numbers 10 days before the election by specifying voters who will cast ballots in accordance with their location and voters without registration.
The total number of eligible voters included in the official registry is 2,575,939. The number of electoral commission members is 4,477, while the number of voters without registration is 74.
Eleven political forces, including two blocs and nine parties. are running in the early elections. The election campaign that officially got under way on 26 November will last through 7 December, with 8 December to be declared a ‘day of silence’ in which no campaigning will be allowed.
