New postage stamps, special cover dedicated to global contribution to IT sphere put into circulation in Armenia
Two postage stamps and the Special Cover dedicated to the topic “State Award of the Republic of Armenia for Global Contribution in IT sphere” were cancelled and put into circulation by HayPost CJSC in the Presidential Palace of Armenia on 30 November.
The postage stamps with nominal values of 160 and 170 AMD are printed in Cartor printing house in France with the print-run of 30 000 pcs each. The author of the stamps’ and the Special Cover’s design is the designer of HayPost CJSC Vahagn Mkrtchyan.
The postage stamps depict the commemorative gold medal and the memorial souvenir given to the laureate, HayPost said in a press release.
The Special Cover depicts James Truchard, the 9th Laureate of the State Award of the Republic of Armenia for Global Contribution in IT sphere and the co-founder of “National Instruments”. The Special Cover also depicts eight Laureates of the previous years.
The Special Cover represents a unique philatelic product - a thematic cover, on which 2 stamps dedicated to the theme “State Award of the Republic of Armenia for Global Contribution in IT sphere” and issued in 2018 are attached and which will be cancelled with a Special postmark.
The postage stamps and the Special Cover were cancelled by Acting Prime Minister of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan, the 9th Laureate of the State Award James Truchard, Acting Minister of Transport, Communication and Information Technologies Hakob Arshakyan, Chairman of the Board of HayPost Juan Pablo Gechidjian, and President of the Union of Philatelists Hovik Musayelyan.
