Sergei Parajanov's films screened at Berlin's Arsenal cinema
On November 20-30, at the initiative of the Embassy of the Republic of Armenia in the Federal Republic of Germany, the Berlin Arsenal Cinema and the German Heinrich Böll Foundation, the screening of the world-famous Armenian filmmaker Sergei Parajanov’s films took place at Berlin's Arsenal Cinema.
Within the framework of the 10-day Hommage to Parajanov event, the Berlin audience enjoyed Paradjanov's deep-going works, the foreign ministry informed.
The closing ceremony of the festival took place on November 30, which was also attended by the director of Parajanov House-Museum Zaven Sargsyan and Georgian Theo Khatyashvili who defended his PhD thesis on Parajanov's works.
The guests were welcomed by the director of the Arsenal Cinema Milena Gregor and the Armenian ambassador to Germany Ashot Smbatyan.
At the end of the event, Zaven Sargsyan answered numerous questions of the audience, which was followed by the screening of Parajanov's "The Color of Pomegranates".
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs informs that on December 1, at the initiative of Germany’s Brandenburgian Ministry of Science, Education and Culture, the Embassy of the Republic of Armenia to the Federal Republic of Germany and the Potsdam Museum of Films, an exhibition of Paradjanov's works opened in Potsdam which is on until January 16, 2019. Parajanov's films will also be screened at the museum's showroom along with the exhibition.
