U.S. President Donald Trump’s latest tweet signals he wants reconciliation and an end to the new global arms race - and the main country he is in the race with is Russia, with their astonishing array of futuristic weapons that are decades ahead of the US, Russia Insider reports.

"I am certain that, at some time in the future, President Xi and I, together with President Putin of Russia, will start talking about a meaningful halt to what has become a major and uncontrollable Arms Race. The U.S. spent 716 Billion Dollars this year. Crazy!" he tweeted.

"Will this tweet precede a change in warmongering policy, or is Trump trying to tell his base that the deep state is holding him back? Time will tell," says the article.

Trump canceled a planned meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin at the Group of 20 Nations summit on Thursday over the Russia-Ukraine sea dispute.
