Sona Truzyan: Investigation into the causes of the SU-25 military aircraft crash underway
The Investigative Committee's Military Investigation Department is probing the causes of the crash of the SU-25 military aircraft of the Armenian Armed Forces, Sona Truzyan, Adviser to the Chairman of the Investigative Committee, told Panorama.am.
"The Investigative-Operative Group headed by the Head of the General Military Investigative Department Artak Krkyasharyan has left for the scene," she said.
The Su-25 military jet of the Armenian army crashed Tuesday morning after it had disappeared from radar screens shortly after take-off, killing the two pilots aboard, Lieutenant Colonel Armen Babayan and Major Movses Manukyan.
The aircraft crashed into the mountains in Armenia's Maralik district. The jet was conducting a daily training flight from Armenia's second largest city of Gyumri. It took off from the Gyumri airport at 10:06a
