Pashinyan: We have not reached an agreement with Aliev regarding the exchange of prisoners
I didn’t have a meeting with Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev in Saint Petersburg, we just had a conversation, Acting Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan told journalists Friday, referring to his talk with Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev within the framework of the informal meeting of the CIS leaders.
According to him, he had a conversation with Aliyev, in particular regarding the exchange of prisoners.
"Unfortunately, we did not reach an agreement, but we will continue discussions, as they offer ‘all for all’. But we have a problem here, we should discuss it with Artsakh authorities as well," Nikol Pashinyan said.
According to the acting Prime Minister, they also talked about the history of the negotiation process, its episodes and so on.
To journalists’ inquiry whether he asked Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko to comment on the discussing the situation around the CSTO Secretary General with the Azerbaijani ambassador, the acting Prime Minister said yes.
When asked about the answer he received, Nikol Pashinyan said: "You know, if I accuse him of revealing the content of the closed session, I think it would not be appropriate if I did the same. The conversation satisfied me."
