Secretaries general of EaP parliaments pay tribute to Armenian Genocide victims in Yerevan
Accompanied by the Armenian National Assembly Chief of Staff-Secretary General Ara Saghatelyan, the secretaries general of the parliaments of Eastern Partnership (EaP) countries visited today the Armenian Genocide Memorial in Yerevan.
The guests, who are in Armenia for the 2nd EaP parliamentary meeting, laid flowers at the eternal flame and paid tribute to the memory of the genocide victims with a moment of silence.
They also paid a visit to the Armenian Genocide Museum-Institute to get acquainted with the museum exhibits and documents about the Armenia Genocide. The officials left a note in the Memory Book of the museum.
“I am shocked. We must remember our history well and do everything possible to prevent similar tragedies in the future,” said the secretary general of the Ukrainian parliament, Petro Bodnar.
