Snap parliamentary elections: election silence day in Armenia
On December 9, snap parliamentary elections are on schedule in Armenia. According to the Electoral Code, campaign is not allowed on the day of voting and the day preceding it. Today is election silence in Armenia.
11 political forces, including 9 parties and 2 alliances are participating in the snap parliamentary elections: Republican Party of Armenia, Social Democratic Party of Armenia, Armenian Revolutionary Federation, My Step Alliance, Luminous Armenia Party, Christian People’s Revival Party, National Progress Party, We Alliance, Orinats Yerkir Party, Sasna Tsrer Party, Prosperous Armenia Party.
A total of 2, 574, 916 voters are registered in Armenia.
Local and international organizations will conduct an observation mission on the election day. International organizations, including OSCE / ODIHR, PACE, CIS, CIS Interparliamentary Assembly, OSCE Parliamentary Assembly, European Parliament, SILBA (Support Initiative for Liberty and Democracy) and ENEMO (European Network of Monitoring Organizations) will be conducting observation missions.
There are 2100 polling stations in Armenia's 13 electoral districts.
