Armenian Ombudsman’s office received 37 reports about alleged electoral violations
As of 15:00, the Human Rights Defender’s office of Armenia has received 37 alerts on violations of electoral procedure on its hotline service. As the Ombudsman’s office told Panorama.am, the reports are mainly related to polling place accessibility and the equipment, the possibility of voting in locations different from voters’ registration as well as the realization of the electoral right for voters absent from the electoral lists.
As the release reads, the working group operating within the Ombudsman’s Office has studied over 500 reports on alleged electoral violations published by the media outlets and on the social networks.
According to the source, in all possible cases the office has provided rapid response to the reports, with legal advice offered to the individuals who filed the reports.
It is reminded that since early Sunday the Ombudsman’s office has been operating a “hotline” service 16 or (096) 116 100 in order to provide information on evident electoral offences registered on the voting day.
