PAP leader says his party will be people’s voice in parliament
Prosperous Armenia Party (PAP) leader Gagik Tsarukyan congratulated the political forces that have won seats in the National Assembly in Sunday’s snap elections.
“The December 9 early parliamentary elections are over, and the public vote shaped the parliament which is set to implement political and economic reforms that will outline the development of the country for the next few years,” Tsarukyan said in a statement, expressing gratitude to the people who have voted for his party.
“As a second political force the PAP will be your voice in the parliament and will remain committed to its ideology to continue being by people’s side and work exclusively for the welfare of the Armenian people,” he said, congratulating the My Step bloc and Bright Armenia party and wishing them all effective and fruitful work for the sake of Armenia and Artsakh.
The My Step bloc led by Acting Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan won 70.44% of the vote in Sunday’s election. Prosperous Armenia and Bright Armenia garnered 8.27% and 6.37% of the vote, respectively.
1,262,164 people, or 48,67% of eligible voters, cast ballots in the elections.
