Two criminal cases initiated based on reports received on elections day and during the campaign - Investigative Committee
Armenia’s Investigative Committee reports that as of 11:00, December 11, 78 reports on electoral breaches recorded during snap elections of National Assembly with apparent crime elements envisaged by the country’s Criminal Code were received in territorial subdivisions of the RA Investigative Committee.
According to the source, 9 of the reports are in Yerevan, 5 – in Syunik, 12 – in Shirak, 4 – in Aragatsotn, 9 – in Ararat, 9 – in Gegharkunik, 2 – in Armavir, 2 – in Lori, 1 – in Tavush and 1 – in Vayots Dzor provinces. 24 - in General Military Investigative Department.
71 of the materials with apparent electoral breaches relate to double voting attempt, 4 – to breaching confidentiality of ballot, 1 – to hindering to exercise the voter’s free will, 1 – to electoral bribe, 1 - to hindering to implement electoral right.
Initiation of criminal cases within 4 materials out of 5 prepared on double voting attempt in Syunik Regional Investigative Department was rejected based on absence of crime.
