Pashinyan: We need to invest additional $2.5 billion into army development
One of the key priorities of the Armenian government is to modernize the military-industrial complex, Acting Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan said at a Cabinet meeting on Thursday.
“The solution of this issue is linked to our vision of turning Armenia into a technological country, as well as the imperative to develop the engineering and technical mindset in Armenia,” he said.
The next key issue, according to Pashinyan, is boosting the combat readiness of the Armenian army.
“We need to be able to invest $2.5 billion into the development of the army over the next 5 years. We need to take serious efforts toward finding that resources. It refers to additional resources part of which should be aimed at improving the social conditions of the servicemen,” Pashinyan said.
