Armenia’s Human Rights Defender visited Robert Kocharyan in detention
Armenia’s Human Rights Defender Arman Tatoyan visited Robert Kocharyan, the country’s former president, who is currently under detention.
“I visited the ex-president the next day after the arrest and had a conversation with him. We discussed all issues related to capacities of the Human Rights Defender. Following the conversation, written notices and enquires were prepared based on the issues raised during our conversation,” Tatoyan told reporters on Friday.
To remind, on December 7, Armenia’s Court of Appeals upheld the first instance court’s ruling to arrest Robert Kocharyan who is accused of overturning the constitutional system during the March 1-2, 2008 post-election events.
