Artsakh president introduces new Commander of the Artsakh Defense Army – media report
Artsakh Republic President Bako Sahakyan introduced new Commander of the Artsakh Defense Army, the 5th Chanel reported from Stepanakert.
According to the source, a consultation took place at the Defense Army Headquarters on Friday where President Sahakyan introduced major-general Karen Abrahamyan as the new Commander. Abrahamyan previously served as the first deputy commander, chief of staff of the Artsakh Republic Defense Army.
To note, as of Friday 12.00 no decrees about the appointment was posted on the official website of the Artsakh President. On Wednesday, some media reports suggested that several senior Artsakh army officers, including Commander of the Artsakh Defense Army Levon Mnatsakanyan, are to be dismissed.
