Armenia’s tax authorities urge show-biz representatives to declare their assets
The State Revenue Committee (SRC) of Armenia once again calls on the show business representatives, i.e. singers, musicians, toastmasters and other people engaged in similar activities, to obtain state registration or be registered in the tax agency to properly submit asset declarations and pay taxes as prescribed by the Tax Code.
“Taking into account the fact the issue has been discussed for a long time, the SRC calls for self-declaring assets in a short period of time. Otherwise tax supervision will be imposed on persons under the spotlight of tax authorities,” the committee said in a statement, reminding illegal entrepreneurship may result in criminal liability.
“Highly appreciating the significance of the cultural sector, the State Revenue Committee sees the settlement of the issue on the level of mutual understanding by once again notifying show business representatives instead of taking drastic measures,” the statement says.
