Armenian Foreign Ministry comments on Azerbaijani FM’s statement
The Armenian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Anna Naghdalyan has commented on Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Elmar Mammadyarov’s recent statement that Yerevan and Baku have reached a common ground over Artsakh (Nagorno-Karabakh) in Milan.
In a clarification issued on Wednesday, she says the Armenian Foreign Ministry has already published the agreements reached at a meeting of the foreign policy chiefs of the two countries in Milan held on the sidelines of the OSCE Ministerial Council.
“In particular, the statement that followed the meeting said, “Zohrab Mnatsakanyan and Elmar Mammadyarov have agreed to continue their meetings in the near future by maintaining the formed dynamics.”
“Another agreement has been reached on a joint statement of the Armenian and Azerbaijani foreign ministers and the heads of delegations of the OSCE Minsk Group co-chairing countries. Statements in similar formats had failed to be adopted for a long time, however it became possible to reach an agreement on the statement’s text in Milan,” Naghdalyan said.
Commenting in the outcomes of the Milan meeting, Mammadyarov said on Tuesday that he has reached a ‘mutual understanding’ with his Armenian counterpart Zohrab Mnatsakanyan during negotiations on the Artsakh conflict settlement in Milan.
