The issue of CSTO secretary general should be solved through consensus – spokesperson
The issue of the secretary general of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) should be solved through consensus, press secretary to acting Armenian PM Arman Yeghoyan told Panorama.am.
Yeghoyan’s remarks came at a request to comment on the report that Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko signed on Friday a draft resolution of the CSTO on appointing Stanislav Zas as the secretary general of the organization.
Earlier reports suggested Belarus State Secretary of the Security Council Stanislav Zas had a meeting with the president and briefed him on his meetings with some of the CSTO heads of states. According to the report, Stanislav Zas has already received the approval of his candidacy for the post from the heads of Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan and Russia.
