Artsakh president awards ex-ombudsman for efficient work
Artsakh Republic President Bako Sahakyan signed a decree on Friday to award the country’s former Human Rights Defender (Ombudsman) Ruben Melikyan with the “Mkhitar Gosh” medal for efficient work and substantial contribution in the field of human rights protection, the presidential office reported.
Melikyan held the office of the Artsakh ombudsman from May 5, 2016 to September 26, 2018, when he submitted resignation, explaining he currently pictures himself more in the human rights protection sector, rather than in the state system.
