Armenian poultry union refutes egg deficit allegations
The Armenian Union of Poultry Breeders denies reports on expected egg deficit as ‘groundless’, warning against an artificial price hike.
In a statement issued on Saturday, the union says that ten large and medium-sized plants and over 25 big farmers produce more than 1.2 million eggs that enter the market daily, adding that the mentioned quantity and the existing reserves fully meet the market demand.
“Meantime, we urge the purchasers not to artificially raise the egg sales price taken into account the sufficient quantities of supplies and guarantees of local producers not to increase the egg prices,” the statement said.
