Businessman Samvel Mayrapetyan released on bail
The Yerevan Court of General Jurisdiction ruled on Thursday to change the measure of restraint imposed on businessman Samvel Mayrapetyan, Panorama.am learnt from the businessman’s lawyer Karen Batikyan. Being under pre-trial arrest, he was released on a bail of 30 million drams, Batikyan said.
As the lawyer informed, Mayrapetyan has been moved to hospital as his health condition had deteriorated significantly while being in detention.
Samvel Mayrapetyan has been charged with ‘assistance to taking bribe’ under Article 38-311 of Armenia’s Criminal Code. Mayrapetyan, who owns H2 TV Company, was arrested on 6 October, but denies any wrongdoing.
