Armenia’s crime rates increase in 11 months, NSS data show
20,267 crimes were reported in Armenia in 11 months of this year against 17,898 crimes registered in the indicated period in the previous year, the official data released by the country’s Statistical Service (NSS) show. The grave and especially grave crime rates have increased in the mentioned period with 209 especially grave crimes against 162 of the previous year.
The statistics also show that in 11 months crimes against the public order and public health are up to 414 cases from 309 of the previous year, while firearm-related crimes are up 53 from 49.
The number of traffic violations with lethal outcome has also increased. 205 road traffic accidents with lethal outcome were recorded within the first 11 months of the ongoing year, while the number was 159 last year.
