Armenia’s diamond, jewelry production on the rise
Diamond and jewelry production grew strongly in Armenia in the first eleven months of 2018, the latest official statistics show.
The country produced 204,168 carats of diamonds from January to November last year, up by 11.6% from the same period of 2017 when the output stood at 179,285 carats, Panorama.am learned from the Statistical Committee of Armenia.
The raw materials for diamond processing in Armenia are imported mainly from Russia, Belgium and Israel.
According to the figures, 2,028.6 kg of jewelry were manufactured in Armenia in January-November 2018, securing a 11.2% growth from the previous year when 1,824.2 kg were produced.
