Recommendations for rolling dolma - Crisis Management Center sums up emergency calls over New Year period
The National Crisis Management Center of the Armenian ministry of emergency situations (MES) registered a total of 323 cases over the period from December 31 to January 7, 111 of which were emergency cases, Hovhannes Khangeldyan, the Head of the Center told reporters at a press conference on Tuesday.
“Eight people died and 77 suffered as results of all incidents. This year we received nine cases less to compare with the data of the previous year, yet the number of deaths and suffered citizens increased by 2 and 24 respective,” Khangeldyan added.
He next detailed that overall 63 cases of fire, 7 cases of poisoning, 63 road traffic accidents and 140 household-related incidents were recorded.
At the request of reporters, the head of the National Crisis Management Center shared some ridiculous instances of calls received over the period. As he told reporters one of the callers, in particular, complained about Santa Claus not visiting only children, while the other asked recommendations for rolling dolma (Armenian national dish).
