Passenger traffic in Armenian airports grows strongly in 2018
Armenia’s two airports saw a strong increase in passenger numbers in 2018 against 2017.
Yerevan Zvartnots International Airport and Shirak Airport in the second largest city of Gyumri handled 2,856,673 passengers last year, up by 11.9% from the same period of 2017, Armenia International Airports told Panorama.am.
In 2018, the passenger traffic through Zvartnots Airport accounted for 2,690,727 people – an increase of 10% over 2017 when the traffic stood at 2,448,251.
Shirak Airport welcomed 165,946 passengers in 2018, securing a 57% rise from the previous year when the passenger flow comprised 105,664 people.
Meanwhile, the total number of flights and landings in both airports in January-December 2018 also recorded a rise of 9.8% compared to the numbers of 2017.
