Ex-lawmaker hopes new Armenian parliament will meet voters’ expectations
Former Armenian lawmaker Aram Sargsyan, who led the We bloc in the December 9 snap parliamentary elections is hopeful the newly elected MPs will live up to the expectations of the voters.
In a post on Facebook, he congratulated all the MPs-elect who received mandates on Thursday.
“I congratulate especially those who have been elected [to the parliament] for the first time and who are full of faith and zeal that they will succeed in realizing their plans and dreams in Armenia,” he said.
“They say it’s a parliament of strangers. I want to believe that it’s an advantage, rather than a disadvantage.
“I want to believe the deputies of the National Assembly formed as a result of the first nationwide elections of the 21st century will justify the hopes and faith pin on them, and 7th convocation National Assembly will launch numerous traditions that will strengthen democracy in Armenia,” Sargsyan stressed.
