Thursday morning update on road conditions
Some highways are closed or difficult to pass in the territory of Armenia as of 9am Thursday, the Ministry of Emergency Situations said.
Vardenyats Pass is shut down for traffic, while Sotk-Karvachar highway is closed for trucks and hardly passable for passenger vehicles.
The roads leading to the villages of Mirak and Charchakis in Aragatsotn Province are also difficult to pass.
The Ashotsk, Amasia, Aparan and Aragats regions are partly covered with black ice.
Snowfalls are reported in the towns of Sisian, Kajaran, Vardenis, Spitak and Stepanavan, Aparan and Aragats regions, Shirak Province and Sotk-Karvachar highway.
Snowstorm has hit the Ashotsk region.
Drivers are strictly recommended to drive to regions exceptionally on winter tires.
