No Armenians among apartment blast victims in Georgia – embassy
There are no ethnic Armenians or Armenian citizens among the casualties of the deadly gas explosion that rocked an apartment building in Georgia on Wednesday, the Armenian Embassy said in a statement.
At least four people were killed and eight others were wounded in the blast which occurred on the sixth floor of an apartment building located in the Did Digomi district of the Georgian capital, Tbilisi.
“The Armenian Embassy in Georgia offers condolences on the tragic incident and expresses its support for the victims’ families and the good people of Georgia,” reads the statement.
Georgian Prime Minister Mamuka Bakhtadze has declared January 17 a day of mourning in memory of the blast victims.
