The FMs meeting is aimed at establishing atmosphere to peace talks – MP
It is impossible to hold talks on the Nagorno Karabakh settlement process amid Azerbaijani practice of exercising belligerent rhetoric, MP from the ruling My Step alliance Hovhannes Igityan told reporters on Thursday.
“2.5 years have passed since the last talks. All these meetings come to establish an atmosphere conductive for peace talks,” Igityan remarked, when asked to comment on the Wednesday meeting between Armenian and Azerbaijani FMs.
“As to the call about establishing peace, our society has long been ready for peace, otherwise neither Armenia nor Artsakh would sign the 1994 ceasefire agreement,” added the MP.
To remind, on January 16, with the mediation and participation of the OSCE Minsk Group Co-Chairs, foreign ministers of Armenia and Azerbaijan held a meeting in Paris.
