Arman Pashikyan continues to lead at national chess championship
Round 5 of the Armenian Men’s Chess Championship took place on Wednesday. The leader of the competition Arman Pashikyan played a draw with Manuel Petrosyan with black pieces.
Zaven Andriasian and Tigran Petrosian who were closely trailing the leader suffered defeats at the hands of Robert Hovhannisyan and Samvel Ter-Sahakyan, respectively. The Haik Martirosyan- Shant Sargsyan and Aram Hakobyan-Tigran Harutyunyan games ended in a draw.
After five rounds played, Pashikyan continues leading the table with 4 points. Samvel Ter-Sahakyan is behind the leader with one point. Five chess players – Robert Hovhannisyan, Haik Martirosyan, Aram Hakobyan, Zaven Andriasian and Tigran Petrosian share the 3-7 spots with 2,5 points.
Manuel Petrosyan and Tigran Harutyunyan hold the 8-9 places with 2 points, apiece, while Shant Sargsyan concludes the table with 2 points.
