Monday morning update on road conditions
Some highways are closed or difficult to pass in the territory of Armenia as of Monday morning, the Ministry of Emergency Situations said in a daily road condition update.
Vardenyats Pass is open for passenger vehicles, while it is shut down for other types of vehicles.
Sotk-Karvachar highway is hardly passable.
Sotk-Karvachar highway, the roads in Ashotsk and Amasia regions (Shirak Province) and in Syunik Province are partly covered with black ice.
Drivers are strictly recommended to drive to regions exceptionally on winter tires.
According to the Roads Department of Georgia’s Ministry of Regional Development and Infrastructure, Stepantsminda-Lars highway is open for light passenger vehicles.
The General Department of the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations in North Ossetia reports 436 vehicles, including 267 trucks, 167 cars and 2 buses, stuck on the Russian side.
