Armenia thwarts drug smuggling attempt from Iran
Officers of the State Revenue Committee’s anti-smuggling department and the Armenian police department combatting drug trafficking have foiled an attempt to smuggle drugs from Iran by an Armenian citizen, the committee said.
Law enforcers detained the Armenian citizen while crossing the Meghri customs checkpoint at Iran's border after searching his luggage to find out 49.5 grams of marijuana-like greenish substance and 0.3 grams of methamphetamine-like substance in it.
The citizen has been put under arrest as a probe is ongoing.
