Armenia to buy new AK-12 assault rifles from Russia
Kalashnikov Concern, Russia's largest rifle and assault weapons manufacturer, will supply 50 latest AK-12 assault rifles to Armenia, the company’s CEO Vladimir Dmitriev told Kommersant newspaper.
“The contract is signed, we are still preparing a small batch which includes around 50 assault rifles. They will study and test [the weapons], and hopefully will proceed with the purchase,” he said.
Dmitriev also noted that Armenia will become the first foreign country to buy AK-12 assault rifles from Russian.
In August 2018, Armenia’s Royalsys Engineering signed in Moscow a license contract with Kalashnikov Concern on production of new models of AK-12 and AK-15 assault rifles in Armenia.
