Armenia's top national security official cannot replace CEC chairman – spox
The spokesperson for the National Security Council (NSC) Secretary Armen Grigoryan refutes media reports alleging Grigoryan will soon be dismissed from his post to replace Tigran Mukuchyan as Chairman of the Central Electoral Commission (CEC).
The official detailed the NSC secretary cannot hold the office of the CEC chairman since he doesn’t comply with the requirements set for a CEC member under Article 195.3 of the Armenian Constitution.
Grigoryan didn’t run as MP with the My Step bloc during the December elections due to the fact that he didn’t register in Armenia over the past four years.
