Exhibition project titled “Temple of Cinema” and the screening of “The Colour of Pomegranates” film by world-known Armenian filmmaker Sergei Parajanov took place in the frameworks of the 48th edition of International Film Festival Rotterdam. As the foreign ministry reported, the screening of the famous film included never-before-seen outtakes from the classic film.
In the scope of “Temple of Cinema” project a conference on the heritage of Sergey Parajanov, Ruben Gevorgyants and Maria Sahakyan as well as Armenian modern cinematography was held attended by the Head of the Union of Armenian Cinematographers Harutyunyan Khachatryan and Director at National Cinema Center of Armenia Shushanna Mirzakhanyan.

During welcoming remarks, Shishanna Mirzakhanyan noted that the screening of unseen outtakes from the “The Colour of Pomegranates” is symbolic, as Parajanov’s first foreign visit thirty years ago was to Rotterdam.

It was noted also that the screening of the new scenes coincided with the 95th anniversary of Parajanov birthday and the 50th anniversary of the film creation.
