Armenia's consumer prices up 1.5% in Dec. 2018
Consumer prices in Armenia rose by 1.5% in December from November last year, with the increase mainly prompted by the 3.8% rise in food and non-alcoholic beverage prices, according to the latest figures unveiled by the country's Statistical Committee.
The statistics show that for the indicated period prices for food (including alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages and tobacco), services and non-food products rose by 3.4%, 0.3% and 0.4%, respectively.
The Consumer Price Index (CPI) stood at 101.8% in December 2018 compared to the same month of 2017, making up 101.8% for food products, 103.2% - for non-food products and 100.8% - for services, the committee said.
Consumer prices grew by 1.1-1.7% in all the Armenian cities under study in December against November last year, with the highest prices recorded in the town of Yeghegnadzor. Yerevan saw a 1.6% rise in consumer prices in December.
