Commemorative coins stolen from Armenian PM’s official residence returned
The commemorative coins reportedly stolen from the Armenian prime minister’s official residence at Baghramyan 26 have been returned, the Investigative Committee told Panorama.am.
The committee says Yerevan’s Arabkir Police Department received a call on Wednesday, January 30, that an unidentified person used technical equipment to unlock a wooden show window at the third-floor corridor of the first administrative building and steal four commemorative coins on display, inflicting substantial property damages.
A criminal case has been launched into the incident under Article 177 of Armenia’s Criminal Code (theft committed by an illegal entry into an apartment, warehouse or facility).
On Wednesday, the scene was examined by experts, with more than 20 people questioned.
However, on the next day, police were notified that the missing coins have been returned and are on display.
The Investigative Committee says a probe is underway to identify the perpetrator or perpetrators behind the incident.
