Armenian government to allocate 10 billion drams in subvention
The Armenian government is planning to allocate 10 billion drams in subvention to different investment projects towards the development of economic and social infrastructures in communities, Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan said at a meeting on Monday.
According to him, last year the local governments was unable to master or submit projects in line with the estimated volumes. The PM says they undertook a commitment of funding subvention projects worth 10 billion drams – even 15 billion – last year, but the programs was realized only partially, and they were not able meet the targets.
“Since the enhancement of the investment climate and economic activity are among our targets, we need to implement infrastructure projects in subventions, which, of course, doesn’t rule out other projects. But mostly our call is to stay focused on the infrastructures – the irrigation system, road development, and others,” the PM said, not ruling the implementation of other projects aimed at boosting the cultural and public life of communities.
