Everything depends on citizens’ ‘genetic code’ – MP on the government programme
MP from Prosperous Armenia party Naira Zohrabyan says the reasons for the new government programme lacking specifics and figures is now clarified. “following the two-day discussions in the parliament It turns out everything depends on the genetic code of the citizens as the legitimate questions emanating from the programme are whether the citizens themselves are ready to change their economic behavior or not. I totally agree that the government cannot predict this since it deals with an esoteric sphere which is mostly unpredictable,” Zohrabyan stated ironically during the Q/A session at the parliament around the government programme.
Zohrabyan’s colleague, Mikayel Melkumyan, meanwhile, insisted that the discussions come to prove that the programme should be reviewed to include all suggestions of the MPs.
To note, the programme submitted by Pashinyan-led cabinet has received much criticism from lawmakers and experts as the document does not provide figures and concrete mechanism to track the implementation progress, lacks risk assessment, instead outlining only proposals.
