Armenian FM to attend Munich Security Conference
Foreign Minister Zohrab Mnatsakanyan of Armenia will take part in the Munich Security Conference in Germany from 15 to 17 February, the ministry told Panorama.am.
During the visit, the Armenian foreign policy chief is expected to hold bilateral meetings with his counterparts from dozens of countries and other partners.
Speaking at a news conference on 29 January, Mnatsakanyan didn’t ruled out another meeting with his Azerbaijani counterpart Elmar Mammadyarov on the sidelines of the Munich Security Conference, adding the dates and other details will be communicated to public later. However, no information has been provided on the possible meeting yet.
As reported earlier, President Armen Sarkissian will also depart for Germany to attend the opening ceremony of the security conference.
The Munich Security Conference is a reputable and influential platform which every year gathers under one roof leaders of multiple states and governments, political, public figures, diplomats, and experts of the security area. At this representative forum, participants discuss issues related to security, reflecting the current challenges existing in the sphere.
