PM: There are numerous investment projects are our disposal
There are numerous investment projects at the Armenian government’s disposal, some of them are realistic, some are unserious, while some need to be worked on, Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan said at Friday’s Cabinet meeting.
The PM said potential investors in Armenia prefer various ways for communicating with the state. “Some prefer to work with the Ministry of Economic Development and Investments, others –with the deputy prime ministers or the prime minister, the governors. It’s normal, let anyone work with whom they want to work, there is no problem here,” Pashinyan said.
“But the whole information on investment talks should be centralized at the Ministry of Economic Development and Investments.”
Commenting on some investment-related issues, the PM said sometimes they face a problem when people express readiness to make investments in Armenia, but then it turns out that the conversation was not serious. Pashinyan says they have developed a ‘filtering’ mechanism in this regard at the proposal of Deputy Prime Minister Mher Grigoryan.
“It is recommended to have such conversations exclusively with those individuals who will submit their banking history, i.e. a person’s banking history is very important for understanding his/her investment potential,” he said.
