Cafesjian Center for the Arts, Beeline gift books on Hovhannes Tumanyan’s 150th anniversary
Within the scope of the events dedicated to the 10th Anniversary of the Cafesjian Center for the Arts (CCA), a book giving ceremony took place on the occasion of the 150th anniversary of famous Armenian writer Hovhannes Tumanyan and the International Book Giving Day, Beeline Armenia said in a press release.
During the special event, the National Library of Armenia, Avetik Isahakyan Central Library, the National Children's Library named after Khnko Aper, the administrative libraries of the City of Yerevan, as well as the regional libraries of Armenia (62 libraries in total) received 100 copies of “Hovhannes Tumanyan: Selection of Works” book. The books are unique because they were illustrated by children during CCA’s “Encounter with the Book” educational program in 2016-2017, implemented by Beeline Armenia’s support.
“Highly valuing the 150th anniversary of the Great Armenian Poet and the message of the International Book Giving Day within the scope of the series of events dedicated to our 10th Anniversary, the Cafesjian Center for the Arts will contribute to the beautifying of daily lives of Armenian readers by giving them an opportunity to read the beloved works by Tumanyan through children’s colorful illustrations. We thank our prominent partner Beeline Armenia once again for providing ongoing support for the educational initiatives of the Center,” noted Vahagn Marabyan, the Acting Executive Director of CCA.
“‘Encounter with the Book’ was one of the most successful projects carried out with the Cafesjian Center for the Arts. It is very pleasant to give these books to Armenian libraries on the 150th anniversary of one of the greatest Armenian writers. We are always happy and willing to contribute to our children’s creativity and aesthetic development,” noted Andrey Pyatakhin, the CEO of Beeline Armenia.
Beeline and CCA have been partners since 2011. Various programs, aimed to develop aesthetic education amongst children, teenagers, and families, are periodically implemented at CCA within the framework of this long-term cooperation. The Interactive Study Center, which was opened in 2015 with Beeline’s support, was provided with modern digital technologies, thus making the online collections of major museums and other art centers’ databases accessible to CCA visitors.
