Some roads closed, difficult to pass in Armenia
Some highways are closed or hardly passable in the territory of Armenia as of 8:30am Monday, the Ministry of Emergency Situations said in a daily road condition update.
Covered with black ice, Vardenyats Pass is shut down for trailer trucks and difficult to pass for passenger vehicles.
The roads in the villages of Vardenis, Ttujur, Chknagh, Dzoraglukh, Nigavan (Aparan region), Melikgyugh, Shenkan, Avshhen and Mirak (Aragats region) are barely passable.
Sotk-Karvachar and Gyumri-Ashotsk highways are partly covered with black ice.
Drivers are strictly recommended to drive to regions exceptionally on winter tires.
According to the Roads Department of Georgia’s Ministry of Regional Development and Infrastructure, Stepantsminda-Lars highway is open only for passenger vehicles.
