Promoting recognition of genocide in South Ossetian not discussed with Artsakh FM – ministry
Foreign Minister of the of the Republic of Artsakh Masis Mayilian who is in the Republic of South Ossetia on a working visit had meetings with the country’s leadership.
One of the media reports on these meetings alleged the Artsakh FM has noted Artsakh is ready to support the recognition of the genocide of the South Ossetian people.
Artsakhpress news agency asked the Artsakh Ministry of Foreign Affairs for comments on the report.
In its reply, the ministry stressed during numerous bilateral meetings with South Ossetian counterparts, the issue of promoting the recognition of the genocide in South Ossetia was not raised by the South Ossetian side.
“At the same time, it should be noted that Artsakh and South Ossetia have established close and trusting relations, and there are no topics closed for discussions.
"It is this stance that was expressed by Artsakh Foreign Minister Masis Mayilian during the joint press conference with the foreign minister of South Ossetia,” the ministry said.
