Armenian humanitarian mission deployed in former school building in Syria
Director of the Center for Humanitarian Demining and Expertise SNCO Ruben Arakelyan had meeting with UN Mine Action Center in Syria Ahmad Javedi and former official, public figure Yahia Aveida during the trip to Syria. As the press department at the Center for Humanitarian Demining and Expertise SNCO reports the parties discussed a range of issues pertaining to upcoming cooperation.
During his trip to Syria, Ruben Arakelyan visited also the members of the humanitarian mission in Syria. “The building that previously functioned as a school has now been renovated, furnished with all available living conditions,” Arakelyan noted. As the release said, the doctors and sappers are involved in their daily activities.
To remind, the 83-member group of Armenian humanitarian experts, including doctors, sappers, as well as supporting personnel headed to Aleppo, Syria in early February to carry out humanitarian mine clearance activities, raise mine awareness among the population, as well as offer medical aid in Aleppo exclusively outside the zone of military operations.
