Foreign ministry issues a message on the occasion of Diplomat’s Day
On 2 March each year the Armenian diplomatic service celebrates its professional holiday –Diplomats’ Day. The foreign ministry has issued a congratulatory message on the occasion of the holiday. As the message reads today is a symbolic date as 27 years ago Armenia's flag was raised in front of the UN Headquarters in New York in 1992 marking the place of the independent republic among sovereign states.
“The Armenian diplomatic service is a resilient structure of 27-year-long history and dedicated specialists implementing their daily work with pride, serving to the public and state interests both in the motherland and abroad as well as working toward promoting of the country’s foreign policy agenda and strengthening of Armenia’s standing and enhancing its international image on international arena.”
The ministry specifically has pointed to the service of diplomats in military zones - Aleppo, Damascus, Baghdad who had defended the interests of the citizens and Armenia at the risk of their lives.
